H2O: Film on Water

H2O: Film on Water is a four-venue exhibition of video and installation works under the creative direction of Cynthia Reeves (Cynthia Reeves Contemporary Art, New York), and juried by Denise Markonish (Curator, Mass MoCA). An excerpt of my video Tidal Culture: Part II (Newfoundland) was selected for the exhibition and was on view at The Newport Mill.  Denise Markonish awarded First Prize to Tidal Culture. This news came shortly after my return from Greenland and Iceland, where I was continuing work on this project (ongoing since 2004). The first four chapters: Tidal Culture: Parts I-IV (Maine, Newfoundland, Greenland and Iceland) were represented in a solo exhibition (water, algae, ice) at the Housatonic Museum of Art, Bridgeport, CT (Fall 2009). This solo exhibition was awarded as First Prize in a 2007 show which was juried by Curator Bill Arning (White Columns, List Visual Arts Center at MIT, currently at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston). Bill Arning selected three of my videos for that show, including Tidal Culture: Part I (Maine).

Update:
